The all-new Mystery Ranch Mysterium line-up is turning heads in 2025 and for good reason. Lorenzo had a chance to test out a version of this backpack on hunts in 2024, and he is here to tell you why he's still going to use it in 2025. Designed for backcountry elk hunting and serious load-hauling, the Mysterium series is more than just an update. It’s a direct response to real-world issues hunters have faced with past pack designs. This Mysterium series is available now at the GOHUNT Gear Shop in a variety of colors and volumes. Keep reading to learn more about these updates.
At the heart of this new design is a breathable, aerated suspension system that uses lightweight foam across the yoke and shoulder straps. This upgrade increases airflow and comfort on long hikes without adding weight. Most important? The newly raised load shelf. It's positioned higher on the frame, making it far more effective for hauling heavy meat out of rugged terrain, a must-have feature for elk hunters and long-haul Western hunts.
New compression straps connect directly to the frame, allowing for tighter, more secure carry of game meat and heavy gear. This minimizes shifting during tough packouts. For versatility, the Mysterium also offers adjustable center webbing that can be adjusted across multiple anchor points, accommodating gear of various shapes and sizes while maintaining balance and security in the field.
All packs in the Mysterium line use hybrid materials: the sides are made of a tough yet light 330D Robic Kodra Ripstop, while the exterior uses the 330 HT Cordura 5PM coated fabric for better weather resistance. This combination helps keep the overall pack weight down. Mystery Ranch also upgraded their autolocking buckles, ensuring that even under stress, your load stays locked in with no slipping straps over time. These packs were field-tested with real hunters and built for rugged, wet, steep environments.
The Mystery Ranch Mysterium series offers four distinct models tailored for different types of hunts:
After a full season of testing the prototype, Lorenzo confirmed it; the Mysterium line fixes every previous shortfall. For hunters looking for a lightweight hunting pack with breathable suspension, modular carry options, and next-gen durability, this is the one to beat.
Sawtooth 45: Ideal for day hunts or minimalist overnights, still requiring a meat shelf.
Sawtooth 65: Balanced for multi-day hunts, it adds capacity while staying agile.
Beartooth 85: Built for gear-intensive backcountry hunts, with well-organized space.
Marshall 105: Suited for extended or unsupported expeditions with maximum volume.
