GOHUNT Lightweight Hunting Pants on a backcountry elk hunt.

When you're hiking mile after mile in early-season heat chasing elk or scouting ridgelines during the summer, the last thing you need is a pair of pants slowing you down. The GOHUNT Lightweight Hunting Pant was built for serious mountain hunters who demand performance without compromise.
Whether you're hunting basins for mule deer, or moving through timber for elk, or even hunting sagebrush flats in August stalking antelope these pants are dialed in to handle it all. From spring hunts, through the middle of fall, you'll find these pants will perform as the seasons change.
These pants weren’t just “designed” — they were tested and tortured by us at GOHUNT as well as a bunch of other friends in the industry in a wide array of conditions. We know what gear failure looks like, and we pushed each version of our pants until we landed on one that can hold up to anything we tossed at it.
What you get is a breathable, fast-drying pant that moves with you and sheds heat when the day temperatures climb past 80°. They’re laser-cut for mountain mobility, offering just the right amount of stretch without ever feeling baggy or restrictive. The articulated knees and gusseted crotch give you total freedom, whether you're side-hilling shale or kneeling on a stalk.
Included with each pair is our own custom GOHUNT kneepads, which are roughly a half inch thick, made of PE, and they are vented so that they allow them to breathe.
Each side of the pants has hip zips that start just below your hip bone and go to the top of the knee. Each zippered section is located slightly behind the middle of your leg, so when you're hiking through brush, your not going get a bunch of stuff in your pants from the open hip zip.
One of the standout features of the Lightweight Pant is how it balances abrasion resistance with weight. Most pants in this category might sacrifice toughness for lightweight — not here. The material of these pants holds up to brush busting, rock slides, and saddle wear, all while weighing less than most standard hunting pants. And if you’ve ever worn out a pair halfway through a hunt, you know why that matters.
Let’s be honest — a lot of hunting gear is either too tactical or too trendy. These pants are built with zero fluff. You’ve got strategically placed zip vents for dumping heat on climbs, reinforced pockets where you actually need them, and no useless extras. Every detail has been field-tested and refined with real backcountry use in mind. This is gear made by hunters, not stylists.
One of the most frustrating parts of buying hunting pants is fit — too tight in the thighs, too loose at the waist, or they ride up with every step. GOHUNT nailed the fit on these. They’ve got a modern athletic cut, but with room where it counts. Built-in stretch lets you scramble, crawl, or sprint if needed. Whether you’re tall, short, or somewhere in between, these pants will fit like they should — comfortably.
While these pants shine in warmer weather, they’re more versatile than you’d expect. Pair them with a merino base layer and you're ready for mid-October hunts. Their quick-dry fabric means creek crossings or sudden downpours won’t ruin your day. They’re a key layering piece that transitions well across multiple seasons and terrains.
If you're a western hunter who hikes far, hunts hard, and demands gear that works as hard as you do, the GOHUNT Lightweight Hunting Pant isn’t just a smart choice — it’s a system upgrade. You’re getting purpose-built pants that breathe, move, and survive like no other. Whether you’re punching a tag or grinding out another empty ridge, these pants help keep you in the game longer.
Lightweight. Rugged. Dialed for the backcountry. This is the pant you’ll forget you’re wearing — until it saves your hunt.
