Determining the number of Iowa deer preference points you have is very straightforward through the Go Outdoors Iowa system. But it can be confusing the first time you try to look up your point total. Below are the exact steps you can follow to easily view the number of preference points you have in Iowa. There are several ways to look up your points in this state, and I listed several of the methods below.
To take the fastest route, click the button below and enter your username and password. Then, proceed to Step 2.
Navigate to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources licensing page. Log in or create an account here. There are several areas you can click on to get you to the login page. One of the easiest ways is to click on "Create/Manage Your Account."
Click the "Login" button. If you can’t remember your Iowa account information, you can go through the help logging-in link.
Then, you'll need to enter your date of birth, last name, and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
Enter that information in and then click "Continue (Submit)."
Click on the nonresident deer and turkey section.
Click on "My Preference Points."
Finally, you'll be able to view your Iowa deer hunting preference point totals and the dates on which you purchased those points.
One last step I like to take is to jump into GOHUNT’s Point Tracker Tool and update my preference point totals for Iowa. This way, I know everything is in sync between the state's website and my Insider account. Point Tracker will then seamlessly transfer your point totals into Filtering and Draw Odds when you're researching hunts on both the web version of Insider and our mobile app.
