Gear breakdown for a successful sheep hunt
Earlier today we had the drawing for our Dall sheep June INSIDER giveaway. We will be announcing the winner tomorrow and that lucky hunter is going on the hunt of a lifetime. To help him or anyone else out, here is a quick gear list that I built based off my 2014 sheep hunt that can help you put together your own gear list.
Name: Lorenzo Sartini
Species: Stone sheep
Season: Late July - August
Year: 2014
Average Temperature: 50°
Expected Weather: 30-60°
Weapon: Rifle
Location: British Columbia
Duration: 14 days
Hunts in the extreme Northwest can see huge fluctuations in temperatures. With that being said, I felt like quality base and insulating layers, plus top-notch rain gear were essential while glassing for sheep in this unforgiving terrain. I honestly wouldn't change much about my setup.
