Zone D-15 located in portions of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties.

This area is a major urban population. Chances are high that you'll just be "enjoying time in nature" and “with others”. The PLM program on Santa Catalina island can be a really good hunt for large bucks as they have no predators allowing the deer to reach full age.Note: Access and weapons discharge may be controlled by local or county ordinance in some portions of Zone D-15. Be sure to check with local law enforcement agencies before hunting.

The terrain in this zone varies from flat bottom land to rolling hills, up into some mountainous canyon country.

Although there is a lot of private land in Zone D-15, there are extensive tracts of public lands with excellent access. Primary roadways in Zone D-15 include Interstates 5, 15 and 215 and Highways 74 and 79.

Catalina Express is the main way to travel to Catalina without the use of a private boat.

Zone D-15 contains a mixture of both public and private lands. Public lands within the Zone D-15 are primarily administered by the Cleveland National Forest.

Wilderness lands have been established within the Cleveland National Forest. The San Mateo Canyon Wilderness Area is accessible by hiking and pack stock. Public use of the wilderness is regulated by permit. Information on wilderness area restrictions and Wilderness Permits may be obtained by contacting the Cleveland National Forest.

The vegetation is highly varied throughout Zone D-15 ranging from oak-woodland, mixed chaparral, juniper-pinyon, hardwood, hardwood-conifer and dense conifer to desert habitats.

This area is a major urban population and most camping will be found in designated sites. The are numberless hotels and other places to stay within the zone.
