At a Glance
This hunt district is located in central Montana, south of Lewistown, in the Snowy and Little Snowy Mountains. This district not only offers great hunting opportunities but breathtaking scenery as well. Hunters have the opportunity to hunt deer in both the archery and rifle season on the same tag. Elk hunters also have the opportunity to hunt this area with a bow or rifle. There are whitetail deer in this district that can be harvested with a general deer license.
The hype of this district tends to overshadow most hunters success. The district does grow a few good bulls, but they can be hard to find on public land. This district is generally considered an opportunistic mule deer district.

- Bring a fishing pole, some great fishing in high elevation streams and reservoirs
- Cell phone service can be found in some parts of the hunting district
- Bring a shotgun as the Lewistown area is well known for its upland game bird hunting
- A GPS with a landowner overlay is recommended
