Area 109, also referred to as Beckton is located in the north-central part of the state near Sheridan. Comprised of high plains desert and forest, this unit contains only small amounts of BLM and State lands. Public land hunting can be a horse in this area and most the success, and the biggest bucks, will be found on privtae lands.

This area has poor general access to the hunting public, and only an average success rate for harvest. A guided hunt is recommended for private land access.

This area consists of gentle flat or hilly terrain, except for those portions near the west edge along the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. Antelope can be found scattered throughout the unit but the lack of public land can be a challenge for most.

Public access in this area is poor. Many small parcels of public land are inaccessible by roads and locked up by large ranches. The unit is covered with many highways and county roads.

Shortgrass dominates most of the area in this high desert prairie. Private croplands are common as well and provide the most habitat.

Sheridan is the closest town of any size, and offers many options for lodging. Groceries, gas, and other amenities can be found here as well. Camping is allowed on all public ground for up to 16 days in one location.
