This area is located on the eastern border of the state, south of Newcastle. Comprised of high plains desert and some forested hills, this unit contains small amounts of BLM land, State land and small blocks of National Forest lands. The highest odds for success will be found on private lands but hunters who are flexible and committed can find love on public lands.

This area has decent public access but the best odds for success are still found on private lands.

This unit, like other surrounding units, is made up of a variety of grassy or desert-like open prairie with creek bottoms and small hills that provide limited opportunities for stalking. Private ranch and farm lands found in this area can draw antelope from the surrounding prairie.

Public access in this unit is poor, but the area has several well-maintained roads and smaller two-track roads. Gas and oil drilling activity provides access roads in some places. This area is bordered by Wyoming Highway 450 and U.S. Highway 16 on the north, the South Dakota state line on the east, County Roads 54, 1A and 2 on the south and County Road 7A on the west.

This unit is comprised of open, high desert prairie typically among sagebrush or grasslands. Rocky bluffs, sagebrush and ponderosa pines can be found as the elevation increases on the east side of the unit.

Newcastle is the closest town and offers many options for lodging, groceries, gas and other amenities. Camping is allowed on all public ground for up to 16 days in one location. Hunters can camp in remote locations.
