This unit is found in the central portion of the state and lies along the Wind River Indian Reservation and just east of Riverton. Good numbers of antelope are found here along with excellent options for public access. Hunters will find favorable hunting and stalking conditions here and most hunters should have the opportunity to look over a number of bucks before deciding on one.
Good habitat should produce excellent horn growth and trophy potential here. A lot of public land and access can let hunters glass over a lot of antelope. Bowhunting is great for this area because of low hunting pressure.
Terrain here is mainly wide open sage and grassland flats with rolling sagebrush hills and ravines. The southern parts of the unit have more rolling breaks, ravines and topography in general. Spot and stalk techniques will work well throughout the area thanks to the varied terrain.
The Gas Hills Road running from the 789 just south of Riverton runs directly west to east through this unit. From the Gas Hills Road there are several roads running north and south that allow access into those parts of the unit.
This area is composed of typical prairie vegetation such as Sagebrush, broom snakeweed, rabbitbrush, greasewood and natural grasses.
Riverton has several lodging areas, campgrounds, gas stations, markets and restaurants. Rocky Mountain Sports, also found here sells sporting goods, including an archery pro shop.
