Area 73, also referred to as North Natrona is located in the central part of the state northwest of Casper. Comprised of high plains desert, this unit contains expansive amounts of BLM and State lands. Public land hunters will find ample opportunities here but the best success rates are generally found on private lands.

The antelope herd in this unit is managed to allows for many tags and good success rates. It has good general access to public land, and has a few Walk-In access areas.

This area, like other surrounding ones, consists of a variety of grassy or desert-like open prairie, with large basins, creek bottoms and rolling hills that provide opportunity for stalking. There are some private croplands near Casper.

This hunt area is bordered by U.S. Highway 20 on the south, County Roads 104, 103, 102 and 101 on the west, County Roads 109, 110, 113, 114 and 115 on the north and Wyoming Highway 259 and Interstate 25 on the east. Public access in this unit is excellent. Only the southeastern corner of the unit is dominated by private land. It contains several well maintained roads, a network of BLM roads and smaller 2-tracks. Most roads are well maintained, with only a few passable with 4-wheel drive or ATVs.

This area is covered by high desert prairie with sagebrush and grasslands. Rocky bluffs, sagebrush, cedars and small trees are to be expected as the elevation climbs into the Big Horn Mountains.

Casper is the closest town of any size, and offers many options for lodging. Groceries, gas, and other amenities can be found here as well. Camping is allowed on all public ground for up to 16 days in one location.
