This unit is located on the western side of the state, south of Jackson near the town of Afton. This beautiful valley, known as Star Valley, is situated between the western slopes of the Salt River Range and the Idaho border, and is absolutely breathtaking. This unit is in what most nonresidents know as Region G.
This could arguably be the top unit for black bears in the state. Some of the largest black bears are found in this unit.
