Unit 110 consists almost entirely of wilderness inside of Shoshone National Forest. Nonresidents are required to have a guide in wilderness areas.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region F and tags drawn for this area are also valid in: 105, 106, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115.

Hunters in this unit have opportunities for a trophy buck when hunting the travel corridors in late October and November. Being able to endure the cold and stay behind your optics will greatly increase your odds.

A fairly large area in this unit is an old burn. The area has a lot of creek drainages side by side that drain into the Shoshone River which runs along the highway. Steep terrain with rocky ledges are found throughout the unit. Little hidden pockets provide great hideaways for big bucks. Gaining elevation and picking apart the large open country with optics will be the best way to find big bucks.

Wilderness

Under Wyoming law nonresidents are not permitted to hunt big game or trophy game in any federally designated wilderness areas without the presence of a licensed guide or resident companion. The resident companion must first get a free non-commercial guide license from a Game and Fish office. The law does not prohibit nonresidents from hiking, fishing or hunting game birds, small game, or coyotes in wilderness areas.

Even though there are several trailhead locations to access the wilderness area, no motorized travel is permitted in the wilderness. All nonresidents are required to have a guide when hunting in wilderness areas. Most trailheads are located close to the highway with minimal off road travel.

Most slopes are covered with conifer forests and aspen patches. Sagebrush ridges with grass pockets can be seen on some slopes. Thick patches of willows and prairie grass are found along creeks in the area.

Camping is permitted inside of the National Forest with no permit required. Lodging is also located just east of the unit in Cody.
