Unit 115 is made up mainly of Wilderness properties that have large numbers of deer and trophy-class bucks.The majority of travel into the unit will be by horse or foot.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region F and tags drawn for this area are also valid in: 105, 106, 110, 111, 112, 113, 114.

Get into the backcountry to look over lots of land and large bucks without many other hunters around. Gaining elevation and sitting behind your optics will increase chances of finding a large buck. This area also has a high concentration of grizzly bears so hunters should be bear aware.

Creeks flow through the bottom of canyons that have grasses and willows. Ridges in this area quickly rise into conifer forests with many small, rocky cliffs. The highest mountains in this area rise above the forests and expose sagebrush and grass fields that transform into shale rock slides with patches of buckbrush.

Wilderness

Under Wyoming law nonresidents are not permitted to hunt big game or trophy game in any federally designated wilderness areas without the presence of a licensed guide or resident companion. The resident companion must first get a free non-commercial guide license from a Game and Fish office. The law does not prohibit nonresidents from hiking, fishing or hunting game birds, small game, or coyotes in wilderness areas.

There is great access through the National Forests leading to trailheads at the edge of wilderness lands. There are no closed areas inside of wilderness lands, but no motorized travel is allowed.

Most of the unit is covered in thick conifer forests. Aspen patches are located all over the unit, with sagebrush and grasses covering openings on hillsides. Willow bushes typically surround areas with flowing water.

Camping is permitted inside of the National Forest with no permit required. Lodging and grocery stores are also located just south of the unit in Dubois.
