At a Glance
Located in North Central Wyoming in the Bighorn Mountains, this spot is known for good its good harvest success rates with quality bucks taken every year. A portion of the higher terrain allows for hunters to glass a lot of the area from high vantage points, and the lower country is heavily wooded with steep canyons. Most of this unit is located in the Bighorn National Forest.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region Y and tags drawn for this area are also valid in: 24, 27, 28, 30, 32, 33, 163, 169.
Area 25 has been known for large numbers of both mule deer and whitetail deer. Hunters should be prepared to look over a lot of terrain to find the desired trophy.
Quick Tips
- A GPS with land status map is recommended
- Snow chains, shovel and four wheel drive is preferred during rifle season
- Be prepared to shoot at distances longer than 200-yards
- A fishing license may also be obtained for fishing the many lakes and creeks in the unit
