Area 65 is located near Glenrock, Douglas and Glendo, Wyoming. This portion of Region J has mule deer and whitetail. There are good deer populations in this area, but harvesting a good buck can be hard without access to private land.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region J and tags drawn for this area are also valid in: 59, 61, and 64.

There is not a lot of good access to public land here, since private land blocks a lot of of access points. Hunters who want to get on private land here need a guide to get access.

A lot of open ground terrain is found at lower elevations, with pines, quaking aspen and big rock outcroppings in the higher elevations of the mountains. Spot and stalk hunting can work well here, but terrain can be rough.

Getting access to public land here can be hard. Hunters should try to get permission to hunt on private land before the season starts to have a better chance at harvesting a buck.

Most of the areas in the southeastern region of Wyoming are dominated by shortgrass prairie and rolling hills of open land. There are also a lot of different types of sagebrush and juniper patches in the hills, and heavy timber in the mountains. Most deer can also be found near heavy cover.
