At a Glance
Located in the south-central part of the state, this area is made up of high desert plains and mountains. This unit has expansive amounts of BLM and State Lands and is bordered by U.S. Highway 287 on the north and east. A small but very healthy herd of elk is found in this area and any hunters holding a tag here will be in for a great hunt.
This area has moderate/rugged terrain with elk located in the timbered Green Mountains. This is a good sized area with plenty of country to hunt and can also be a great place for hunters to take branch antlered bulls. The bigger elk in this area typically come from the more rugged and remote locations.
