Excellent unit for trophy elk and antelope. Mule deer and desert bighorn sheep exist in low numbers. Roughly half of the unit is on the Big Boquillas Ranch, which charges an access fee and limits access to specific dates.

This is one of Arizona's top units for elk and antelope. Mule deer and desert sheep are also in this unit. Early rifle and early archery elk hunts usually produce bigger bulls.

Mostly large cattle ranches with open grassland and thick juniper stands. Some ponderosa pine forests in southeast corner near Williams, AZ. Part of the eastern border is a large, deep canyon.

The Kaibab National Forest and state property have good public access via improved gravel roads. Much of the unit is private ranch property with both limited and open access. Some private ranches charge an access fee and limit trespass dates.

Lower elevations consist of rocky canyons with limited grass, forbs and sagebrush. Middle elevations are filled with rolling grassland prairies, with pinyon-juniper forests and cliffrose. Higher elevations have ponderosa pine and gambel oak.

Two developed campgrounds are located in Unit 10. Most hunters camp remotely throughout the unit. Lodging can be found in Williams, Seligman, Ashfork, Grand Canyon Caverns and Valle.
