The Snake River zone is found in south-central Idaho and is primarily comprised of developed and agricultural lands. A decent amount of public land is found in unit 63 although hunting here is conducted entirely through the use of controlled hunt tags. Elk will commonly be found among the acres of agricultural lands and interested hunters should seek private permissions prior to purchasing or applying for a tag in this zone.
This area is largely flat with expansive prairies of high desert, sage, and agricultural areas. Glassing opportunities are plenty if some elevation can be found. Very little exists for tree cover. Hunters will find very little trouble physically covering any ground within the units.
With the exception of unit 63 access is very tough throughout this zone. Herds and hunters will largely be held to focusing on agricultural areas and hunters will really be relying on herds being presents on lands they have permission to hunt.
