This smaller zone is found on the extreme east side of the state and lies along the Illinois state line. Some public access opportunities do exist here but these are limited and can see some heavy pressure at times. Good numbers of deer will be found here along with excellent genetics. This area is largely characterized by privately owned agricultural fields, interspersed with extensive stands of mature hardwood trees, and numerous creeks, rivers, reservoirs, and swamps. Private lands compose much of the landscape but there are some great public access opportunities and public land success is totally possible here.
