This hunt district is located in north central Montana. Nearly all ground is farmed with wheat and other dry land farming crops common to Montana. There is very little topography other than some breaks country found along major river and creek routes.
This unit isn't really a popular choice for most deer hunters as those hunting up in this part of the state stick to the Sweetgrass Hills district or higher up on the Marias River. Both mule deer and whitetail can be found throughout this district. There is limited access and virtually no elk. The minimal pressure is about the best thing to say about this district. The key to success in this area generally comes down to scouting.
