Located in central Montana, Hunt District 412 has all of the Judith Mountain Range, along with the North and South Moccasin Ranges. General License holders may hunt deer, but draw permits must be obtained to hunt elk.
Elk populations are high but it may be difficult to locate them on public lands at times. Mule deer numbers are holding steady. Whitetails have been on the decline due to a recent case of EHD.
