This unit is located in western Montana and along the Idaho state line. Decent moose densities are found here but the vegetation cover is immense and locating them can be a chore. Very few glassing opportunities will be found here with the exception of timber cuts, old burns, and some open creek bottoms. This area will require patience and hard hunting but the payoff can be great.
A realistic expectation would be finding a bull near the 40 inch mark, with some bulls exceeding 45 inches. During general deer and elk season there will be high hunting pressure, which can cause some frustration. This district is very large with isolated population densities of moose, so hunters will want to give themselves plenty of time to hunt this district.
