This large district is found in southwestern Montana near the Idaho border. This area is largely open prairie grounds with four distinct mountain ranges rising up from the valley floors. Within the islands of mountains, hunters will find plenty of roadless country, although these areas are typically frequented by horseback hunters. Physically accessing sheep country, particularly during the early season, can be tough and physical conditioning can play a large role in success.
This area does not typically produce giant rams but it does offer a unique backcountry experience not normally found in surrounding areas.
