Deep canyons and high peaks make up most of this area. Water sources make it a great area to grow mature elk, deer, antelope and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep. The northern border is the Idaho/Nevada state line.

Good area for hunters who enjoy hiking. Ridges provide decent glassing points.

Deep canyons with elevations as low as 5,300 feet above sea level at Jackpot. High mountain peaks surround the canyons and valleys with the highest being Ella Dee Mountain at 8,600 feet. Water sources drain into larger tributaries before crossing into Idaho and other areas.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle is necessary to gain access to most of this area. An ATV will make access much easier and faster, but not necessary. Most roads in this area are rough. Be prepared with spare tires and tools. Public access is very good throughout the unit with very little private land. The northern border is the Idaho/Nevada state line. The western border is US-93 to the Idaho/Nevada state line. The southern and eastern borders follow the Fall Creek/Rock Creek/Thousand Springs roads to where they intersect with US-93.

There is a wide variety of forage in this area due to the varying terrains. The low valleys and canyon bottoms have sagebrush and grasses. As elevation increases, the vegetation changes to mahogany, pinyon pine and aspen stands along with a variety of grasses covering the ground.

This unit offers an excellent variety of camping due to water sources and trees that provide shelter from the elements. Jackpot, NV and Twin Falls, ID provide a lot of choices for hunters including hotels, campgrounds and RV parks.
