Major landmark includes the Stillwater Range. Vegetated public land is mostly covered by desert brush, pionyon, and juniper. Land ranges from 3,400-8,700 feet above sea level. Road access is good in most regions of the unit; some areas are accessible only by hiking.

There are also some antelope scattered throughout the unit.
