About 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas, the Meadow Valley Mountains are in this sprawling Mojave Desert unit. The harsh climate, barren desert and steep cliffs are better for desert bighorn sheep than deer.
Plan to for a long hike. Sheep are commonly seen near guzzlers. Does and small bucks are occasionally seen north of Moapa in Meadow Valley Wash.
