This unit is on the southern border of the state. The Missouri river is dammed up on the eastern side of the unit and makes up the entire eastern boundary. Due to this area being dammed up it is called Lake Francis Case. The South Dakota Game and Fish owns and manages all of the ground surrounding the lake. Although public land and walk-in access is very limited in this unit, there are miles of ground along the lake that are open to the public and allows more opportunity to hunt.
With very limited public access there are few hunters headed to this unit without a plan around hunting some private property.
