This massive unit makes up the vast majority of the western half of the state. Elk exist in this unit in very limited numbers and encounters are not a common occurrence. Hunters who find success on this hunt generally have inside knowledge from landowners who have elk present on their land. DIY hunters can find themselves really struggling on this hunt without some great knowledge of local elk herds before the hunt.
