Pronghorn live mostly in four valleys: Rush, Tooele, Cedar and Goshen, which lie between mountain ranges west of Interstate 15 from the south end of the Great Salt Lake down past Utah Lake to Nephi.

This unit offers good hunting for representative bucks. Several outfitters guide in this area. Antelope prefer crops to natural forage when given the choice. Domestic sheep can be seen grazing much of the unit.

Rush Valley is the largest of four major valleys in this unit. The others are Tooele, Cedar, and Goshen. Antelope live in the valleys and foothills that border them but do not climb the highest mountains, which are more than 10,000 feet above sea level. Some pronghorns live near Rush Lake, a marshy region fed by mountain streams from the east and west sides. Two separate parts of Tooele Army Depot are in the unit, a northern piece east of Tooele and another sector in northern Rush Valley. The unit also contains the small James Walter Fitzgerald Wildlife Management Area.

Mostly public roads with good access throughout BLM lands. Landowners often grant access if approached before the season. If you draw a tag, plan to scout in the summer and get to know some of the ranchers. Rush Valley is best accessed east from Lehi on Highway 73 or north from Tooele on Highway 36.

Antelope live mostly at lower and middle elevations from open sagebrush, desert grassland flats, and agricultural fields to rolling foothills covered with sagebrush, pinyons, and junipers. Sometimes bucks bed and feed in the shade of cottonwoods along the creeks.

Hunters have a choice of six motels in Tooele ranging from the one-star Villa to the four-star Holiday Inn Express. There are two recommended campgrounds in the unit, one in the north end of Rush Valley and Clover Springs in the south end. You can also set up a primitive camp along one of the many dirt roads.
