This enormous area is composed of three largely private and mostly mountainous units that stretch from Salt Lake City and Interstate 15 all the way to the Wyoming border. Deer and elk numbers are high after several consecutive mild winters. Public land is generally rugged, steep and heavily hunted.
Being one of the largest units in Utah, but having a lot of private land, this unit can be difficult to hunt. Most of the elk that get taken every year come off of private land, but there are still some great hunting opportunities on public land.
