Hunters in Area 67 - Sand Draw, Wyoming, consistently emphasize the importance of having a well-planned strategy due to the challenging terrain, which can vary significantly throughout the unit. Many recommend scouting prior to the season to fully understand the area’s layout and to locate optimal hunting spots, especially those near water sources as animals tend to congregate there. While some mention the unit’s high draw odds as favorable, they caution that this may lead to increased competition, suggesting weekdays as better hunting days to avoid crowds. Overall, patience and thorough pre-season scouting are critical for a successful hunt in this unit.
This unit is found in the central portion of the state and lies along the Wind River Indian Reservation and just east of Riverton. Good numbers of antelope are found here along with excellent options for public access. Hunters will find favorable hunting and stalking conditions here and most hunters should have the opportunity to look over a number of bucks before deciding on one.
Good habitat should produce excellent horn growth and trophy potential here. A lot of public land and access can let hunters glass over a lot of antelope. Bowhunting is great for this area because of low hunting pressure.
