Rugged National Forest and Wilderness areas take up a large portion of the unit. This terrain is pretty diverse and can provide good opportunity for a trophy buck. Private land will be found near agriculture fields along sections of the northern boundary, and extends east towards Cody. BLM also makes up a good portion of lower elevations in this unit. The area is known for a high grizzly bear population so be aware.For nonresidents, this area is part of Region F and tags drawn for this area are also valid in: 105, 106, 110, 111, 112, 114, 115

Hunters in this unit have opportunities for a trophy buck when hunting the travel corridors in late October and early November. Whitetail are typically only found on the private land agriculture bottoms. Being able to endure the cold and stay behind your optics will greatly increase your odds at finding a trophy mule deer.
