Area 62 - South Greybull River in Wyoming is praised for its rugged terrain and ample opportunities for seasoned hunters. This unit is located south of the Greybull River in Northwestern Wyoming and is part of the Shosone National Forest. There is a lot of rugged country in this area, with a lot of access roads, and less wilderness area's than its neighboring units. There is a healthy population of animals here and is one of the more sought after elk units. Those willing to put in the effort should have no issues finding success.
There is typically good opportunity to harvest a branch-antlered bull here, with hunters having the chance to take a good 6 point bull. The western portion of the area is within the Washakie Wilderness Area that nonresidents can not hunt without an outfitter or resident guide. Grizzly bears can be found here.
