Area 18 is a relatively small sized area and is part of the upper Gros Ventre drainage. This area has conservative permit numbers and gives a good opportunity to harvest a mature bull moose. Average antler spread in this area typically pushes 40 inches. Predation and low calf survival continues to be a concern in the area.
This area is considered to be an average moose area in the state. Although low herd numbers are a concern, occasional 40” plus moose scoring above 150” B&C are harvested in this region.
