This unit lies in south-central Wyoming and is about an hour south of the town of Casper. A small population of sheep will be found here but hunters can expect a good opportunity at a great representative of the species. A lack of vegetation in most of the low to mid-elevation areas can make for great glassing conditions although a diverse topography creates many hiding spots for sheep.

This unit is home to a small population of sheep but the hunt can offer an incredible experience for anyone with a tag.

On the western end of the unit and along the North Platte River this terrain is very open with very little in vegetative cover. The mountainous areas to the north and east, the Seminole's and the Shirley's, can be very rough and feature a much higher density of mature timber stands. The Seminoe Mountains are largely roadless and generally hold a decent concentration of sheep. Physically accessing and traversing some of these areas can be difficult but not impossible.

Access to public lands is good in this unit and a good road system will take hunters into most of the unit. Still, foot travel will be necessary to reach some of the most remote country. The southern end of the unit is quite broken and checkerboarded with public and private lands and land ownership maps can help greatly.

This unit consists of mostly timbered slopes mixed with open areas dominated by sagebrush, grass, and mountain shrubs. Timber stands found in the Seminoe and Shirley mountain ranges consists of Douglas fir, subalpine fir, spruce, lodgepole pine, limber pine, and aspen.

Because this unit is so remote the closest options for modern lodging, groceries, and sporting goods will be found an hour north of the unit is Casper. Hunters are highly encouraged to meet all gear needs prior to leaving for the hunt. Most hunters will opt for more primitive camping arrangements and some will even backpack hunt this unit.
