At a Glance
Unit 124 lies at the northeast most region of District 2 on the eastern side of the state bordering Idaho which is comprised of 7 game management units. This unit covers several different eco systems between Idaho and the Spokane Reservation to the west. This unit has a large amount of private ground. The best portions of public ground receive the bulk of hunting pressure, so it would be a good idea to sew up private access as soon as possible. Hunting pressure decreases after the beginning of the hunt, so plan to keep on hunting.
Deer populations have fluctuated greatly due to many back-to-back events; 2014-15 drought, 2015 blue tongue which typically follows droughts, and a hard winter in 2016-17. This unit has some excellent terrain for archery elk hunters.
