Lopez is a medium sized island tucked in between the larger surrounding island in the Salish Sea and the Rosario Strait. Island is predominately privately held with a note-worthy exception being one chunk of San Juan County Through The Land Bank which in this case does allow hunting on Lopez Hill. There is some hunting opportunity within this small GMU, however, the style of hunt is certainly not for everyone. If you’re looking for best private land access, presentation is key, some folks don’t mind a few pesky deer eating their garden hunted.
Most of the resident citizens of the island enjoy the deer and may be hard to receive hunting permissions from.
