The Long Island unit is entirely Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, and therefore highly regulated. With the highpoint at only 200-ft, the small island makes for a very unique Roosevelt elk hunt worth checking out. With that being said, it’s not an easy hunt seeing as the island has incredibly thick habitat with lots of downed timber making hiking tough and noisy.
Elk here have learned over the years where the hunters travel in this unit.
