Cypress is a small island between Bellingham Channel and Rosario Strait in the Salish Sea. Although the island is basically all state ground the lack of development has left very few clearings for hunters to spot deer. There is some hunting opportunity within this small GMU and excellent table fare for the lucky hunters filling their tags. Be patient and hunt slow when you find fresh sign.
While this area is almost entirely public hunters will find very little opportunity due to the extreme nature of the vegetation cover.

This island is full of thick lush cover and pristine habitat that is critical to supporting wildlife populations. Tidal flats and marshland common as elevations jet up to 1,500-ft.
Unless you know someone who lives on the island, you will need to take the ferry or private boat daily.
