The Deschutes River dissects the unit diagonally, past Olympia to the Budd Inlet. Outside of the urban sprawl, there are small isolated pieces of state land, along with private rural properties, in all sizes. The largest piece of land is Fort Lewis in the eastern half of the unit. WDFW manages two subspecies of elk, with the Roosevelt elk west of I-5, running within this GMU’s borders on the western edge.
Although this unit is mostly private land, it does offer some good hunting opportunities.
